EA2 - Update 12

You would all be aware that the AFP released the AFP Enterprise Agreement 2012-2016 proposal for consideration this morning.

AFPA CEO Jim Torr has today also released a message in regards to the AFPA’s support of this proposal.

To assist in your consideration, the following is a quick summary of the key achievements in regards to the proposal:

*Fixed Term Mobility roles articulated in EA

*retention of safety net provisions

*improved OH&S breach payment of Base salary hourly penalty rate plus hours worked counting towards averaging period instead of current arrangements.

*all additional hours at end of averaging period paid out at overtime rate.

*removal of provision when an employee is given less than 12 hours notice and it being replaced with the general Recall provision

*Limits on length and number of shifts

*Retention of rest break

*Retention of provision that duty outside of 0600-2000 Monday to Friday must be as a result of genuine operational requirements of the AFP. That is directly related to time critical or contingent operational requirements.

*Limits on length and number of shifts

*Retention of rest break

*Christmas day provision

*Daylight saving provision

*Retention of normal hours of work as 0800-1600 Monday to Friday

*Retention of flex time range of 0600-2000 Monday to Friday

*Advancement strategies retained in EA

*Enhanced policing advancement strategy

*Commitment to review the classification structure of Protective Service Officers and Police Technical Team

*significantly increased to $8.00 per hour

*On call allowance (cl 35) [improved]

*significantly increased per day

*new higher weekly payment

*Recall to duty (cl 36) [improved]

*Now paid as overtime

*Close duty allowance (cl 37) [new]

*Deployment Assistance Allowance (cl 38) [retained]

*Remote localities allowance (cl 39) [new]

*Air Security Officer Flight Operations Allowance (cl 40) [retained]

*Additional remuneration (cl 41) [new]

*Annual leave at half pay (cl 42) [new]

*Personal/carer’s leave with pay (cl 43) certification requirements [improved]

*Mandatory Rest Days retained (cl 44) [retained]

*Miscellaneous leave with pay now includes AFP Band member (cl 50) [new]

*Redeployment and Redundancy (cl 58) [retained]

*Rest period after domestic air travel (cl 61) [new]

*Rest period after international air travel improved (cl 61) [improved]

*Consultation (cl 68) [retained]

*Dispute resolution (cl 70) [retained]

As mentioned in the CEO’s message, the AFPA will be conducting some meetings with our membership over the coming weeks. We will advise you of the timings in the near future. We will also be distributing further detailed information over the next few weeks. This will give members an opportunity to clarify issues prior to the Voting period, which commences on 14 February 2012.
