Enterprise Agreement Dispatch

One of your Association’s most important responsibilities is securing you the best employment conditions and pay-rises possible. This is done through Enterprise Agreement negotiations. This section of the AFPA Dispatch will provide regular updates on all matters relating to bargaining for the next AFP Enterprise Agreement.

Once negotiations commence, all bargaining meeting summaries, resources, surveys, opinion polls and other information will be made available to you here.

With your help, we can create an agreement that best works for you.

February 2023 EA Update

The AFPA continues to undertake a strong focus relating to the next EA. Our internal EA Operational Committee has been continuing to review suggestions made by members since the last EA came into effect. Informed by your ideas and the issues raised, the Committee have been working through the EA and making amendments to reflect member feedback. We are continuing to actively engage with our membership regarding your suggestions for the next EA. We have undertaken in-house musters in Eastern and Western Command in the last month where members have provided us with some valuable feedback regarding what they would like to see in the EA. The AFPA EA working group has had another busy month as we progress towards bargaining. We are continuing to release a series of targeted short surveys that focus on specific Parts of the current Enterprise Agreement. As mentioned in our previous comms, the feedback gathered from these surveys informs the work of both the EA Advisory and Operational Committees. This month’s update on the Enterprise Agreement will be a brief but important one.We are continuing our meetings with our EA stakeholders (ministers and committee members) as we prepare for the upcoming bargaining phase.We are also continuing to prepare our log of claims; the next section is Part II Remuneration and Classification Structure. September EA Update

September 2022 update - We have facilitated a number of operational meetings for the next Enterprise Agreement, which were supported by further subcommittee advisory meetings.During this month’s meetings, we addressed the some of the “rub points” contained in the EA and drafted preliminary changes. Further work is scheduled into the future to address the most recent and subsequent surveys. We are also in dialogue with key ministers and parliamentarians. Our good working relationship with Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus has us cautiously optimistic that positive changes will occur for the benefit of our members. Preparation for Negotiations

Work is well and truly underway at the AFPA in preparation for the upcoming Enterprise Agreement negotiations. I have established an internal Enterprise Agreement Operational Committee comprised of AFPA staff. This committee has been reviewing suggestions made by members since the last Enterprise Agreement came into effect. Informed by your ideas and issues, the committee have been working through the EA, clause by clause, and making amendments to reflect your feedback.
