The Australian Federal Police Association (AFPA) supports the introduction of a Bill by ACT Labor backbench member, Dr Marisa Paterson MLA that would amend the Bail Act 1992 to shift the presumption of bail to a neutral position for three serious offences.
AFPA President Alex Caruana said that it was refreshing to see a Member of the Legislative Assembly looking after the welfare of police and making ACT roads safer.
