The AFPA are exploring several additional Protected Industrial Action’s (PIA’s) which may include removal of services, and members walking off the job for a specific amount of time. I appreciate this may be difficult to undertake, but as we saw with the Aviation firefighters, it took this type of action for the Government to listen and offer a deal that remunerated and acknowledged the high-risk type of work they undertake. In our opinion, AFP appointees face more risk, scrutiny, and work life balance disruptions than many other public servants employed by the Government.  

I’m asking you all for a further commitment regarding additional PIA.  The question is simple, ‘are you prepared to walk off the job?’  Even if you’re not prepared to do that, I would ask every member to submit a response.
