The AFPA have recently been made aware of changes to the rosters of members working in Perth Aviation. After reviewing current policy, we have concluded that the alterations to the pattern of attendance are significant and should arguably be treated as roster changes.

Today, Australian Federal Police Association representatives will meet with AFP Corporate HR in an attempt to find common ground regarding particulars of the proposed modern award.
Modern awards establish the benchmark for future Enterprise Agreement negotiations and whilst highly unlikely, there is the remote possibility that the AFP may default back to the AFP award should any future EA be set aside.

AFPA Chief Executive Officer Dennis Gellatly has responded to media requests about PSO's being declared excess following Defence funding cuts. It is expected 480 PSO's will be deemed excess, with 110 of those positions being made redundant.
